We’re off to see the wizard!

A Yellow Brick Road Ahead for Sefton Spotlights 🌈✨

Last week, we officially announced our next Sefton Spotlights production… The Wizard of Oz — and the excitement since then has been nothing short of electric.

Hot on the heels of that announcement, we’re also thrilled to confirm that Sefton Spotlights will be heading to the West End later this year for a truly inspiring day of musical theatre. Children will take part in a practical workshop, attend a matinee performance of Wicked, and enjoy an exclusive Q&A session, giving them a real insight into life on (and backstage at) a professional West End show. For many, this will be their first experience of theatre at this scale — a huge moment, and one we know will stay with them for years.

The response to this year’s opportunities has been staggering. Interest in the trip has been higher than ever before, and while this is incredibly exciting, it does mean that we haven’t been able to offer places to every child who applied. We know this will be disappointing for some, and we want to say clearly: this does not limit anyone’s involvement in Sefton Spotlights.

Every child is warmly encouraged to audition in July and take part in our performances this December. The West End trip is just one part of what we do — the heart of Sefton Spotlights is creating ambitious, joyful musical theatre together, and there is absolutely space for everyone who wants to be part of that journey.

With ruby slippers at the ready and the Emerald City on the horizon, it’s shaping up to be a magical year. We can’t wait to see where the yellow brick road takes us next. 💛🎭
