A Fantastic Start to Our Wizard of Oz Journey!
What an incredible few weeks it has been for Sefton Spotlights!
This year we were thrilled to welcome a record-breaking 73 children to audition for The Wizard of Oz (Youth Edition). The standard was simply outstanding. Every child who auditioned should be enormously proud of the confidence, creativity and commitment they brought into the room. The talent on display made this year's casting process one of the most exciting—and one of the most challenging—we've ever experienced.
We're delighted that casting has now been announced, and it was wonderful to see so many children and families at our launch meeting this week. There was a real buzz of excitement as scripts were handed out, expectations for the coming months were shared, and our cast officially began their journey towards December's performances. We can't wait to see this talented company bring the Land of Oz to life!
We're also excited to announce the launch of our brand new Limelights Alumni Network. Limelights is our community for former Sefton Spotlights performers, giving past cast members the opportunity to stay connected, support future productions and continue their theatre journey with us. It was also lovely to welcome back many members of last year's Oliver Jr. cast for a special screening of the production in school. It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything they achieved together and relive some wonderful memories before our new cast begins creating the next chapter of the Sefton Spotlights story.
Finally, as our productions continue to grow, so does our need for enthusiastic volunteers.
