Help Us Bring Our Productions to Life
Every year, dozens of parents and carers help us transform ambitious ideas into unforgettable productions. Whether you can spare a few hours sewing costumes, building scenery, selling programmes, supervising backstage or helping to transport props, your support makes a tremendous difference.
You do not need previous theatre experience. There are roles to suit all skills, interests and levels of availability.
We are always particularly blown away by support from members of our school community who do not have children in the show and can therefore offer more assistance when the curtains come come up, without feeling they are missing out on seeing their childβs big moment in the spotlight!

WHY VOLUNTEER?
Sefton Spotlights productions are only possible because of the extraordinary support of parents and carers. Each year, volunteers give their time, skills and energy to help transform our ideas into fully staged musical productions.
By volunteering, you play a direct role in making our shows more ambitious and spectacular. Additional support allows us to create more detailed costumes, larger sets, more elaborate props and smoother backstage operations, helping us to provide children with an experience that feels as close as possible to professional musical theatre.
Parent volunteers also help ensure that children can focus on what they do best: performing. When costumes are organised, props are ready, children are supervised and front-of-house runs smoothly, our young performers are free to concentrate on rehearsing, building confidence and enjoying every moment of the experience.
Many volunteer roles involve working directly with the children, whether backstage, in dressing rooms, or supervising performances and trips. This support is essential in helping us maintain a safe, well-organised environment where children are properly safeguarded while having an exciting and memorable time.
For parents of younger children, volunteering can also provide a fascinating insight into how Sefton Spotlights productions are put together behind the scenes. It offers a chance to see first-hand the scale of what is involved and the incredible opportunities that await future members of the club.
Whether you can help regularly or only occasionally, every contribution makes a meaningful difference and helps us continue creating extraordinary theatrical experiences for the children of Sefton Park Junior School.
