About the role

Volunteer Practitioners are regular members of the Sefton Spotlights Creative Team who work directly with children during rehearsals, helping them develop their acting, singing and dance skills. Drawing on their own experience and expertise, practitioners support weekly rehearsals, contribute to the creative process and play an important role in bringing our productions to life. This role is ideal for adults with a background in the performing arts, education or youth work who are looking to make a meaningful and ongoing contribution to the programme.

Who We Are Looking for

We're looking for enthusiastic adults who can make a genuine creative contribution to Sefton Spotlights and become a regular part of our rehearsal team.

This opportunity may be particularly suitable for those with experience in:

  • Musical Theatre

  • Acting and Drama

  • Singing, Vocal Coaching or Choir Leadership

  • Dance and Choreography

  • Music Performance or Music Education

  • Theatre Directing

  • Youth Theatre

  • Teaching, Coaching or Working with Children

Whether your experience comes from professional work, education, amateur theatre, community arts or youth organisations, we'd love to hear how your skills and expertise could help inspire our young performers.

what does commitment look like

Volunteer Practitioners typically support weekly Thursday afternoon rehearsals from 3:30-5:30pm during term time in Term 1 & 2 and may also choose to assist with additional rehearsals and performances. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who can commit regularly and become a consistent part of the rehearsal process.
