Celebrating Oliver Jr. — and Looking Ahead to an Exciting 2026 at Sefton Spotlights

Last term’s production of Oliver Jr. was a huge success, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. From the energy and commitment of the cast to the teamwork shown backstage, the children rose to the challenge and delivered performances full of confidence, character and heart. It was a joy to see their hard work come together on stage, and the support from families and audiences made the experience even more special. Oliver Jr. was a real reminder of what Sefton Spotlights is all about: creativity, collaboration and giving children the opportunity to shine.

While things may have felt quieter on the surface over Christmas, it has been a very busy time behind the scenes. Planning has been well underway for an exciting year ahead, with lots of opportunities, events and performances in the pipeline for 2026. We’ve been reflecting on what worked so well last term, listening carefully to feedback, and shaping plans that will continue to challenge and inspire our young performers.

To share these plans, we will be holding a Sefton Spotlights Pupil and Parent Information Evening on Tuesday 27th January. This session will outline what the year ahead will look like, highlight key dates and opportunities, and—very excitingly—include the announcement of our next show. It will be particularly valuable for children in the Junior School who are thinking about getting involved or continuing their Sefton Spotlights journey.

That said, parents of children in the Infants who are curious about what Sefton Spotlights does and how it grows with children over time are also very welcome to attend. Whether you’re already part of the club or just starting to explore what we offer, we’d love to see you there and share what promises to be a fantastic year ahead.
